Testimonials

Working with Brian Stokes has been a genuinely transformative experience. From the very beginning, his calm patience and ability to truly understand my needs and goals made me feel supported and capable. For the first time, I’ve gained real confidence in my physical training, knowing I’m being guided by someone who not only listens but adapts everything to help me grow.
Brian’s attention to detail is remarkable. Every session and every plan he creates feels intentional—achievable enough to keep me motivated, yet challenging enough to push me beyond what I thought I could do. That balance has made all the difference.
I’m stronger, more confident, and more committed than ever, and that’s entirely thanks to his guidance.
“Trust the process.”

I couldn’t ask for a better coach. From day one, Brian has been incredibly supportive and genuinely invested in my Hyrox journey. He’s always on hand with encouragement and reassurance, especially during those mental moments of doubt when I question whether I can really do this.
What really sets him apart is how much he truly cares he shows up consistently for every client and takes the time to adjust training plans to suit individual needs, not just physically but mentally too. I always feel supported, listened to, and guided in the right direction. His belief in me has made a huge difference, and I’m so grateful to have him in my corner going into my Hyrox race.

I've had many trainers and Brian is the best by far. You should try him, you won't be disappointed. He might train elite athletes, but he also trains me...my goals are about balancing family life, a busy career and staying mobile. He has changed my mindset, I trust the process and most importantly I actually look forward to training... which is down to Brian.

Reflecting on my journey over the past ten months of training with Brian, after successfully completing Ironman Copenhagen:
Starting out at the start of my time training with Brian, balancing a demanding job in London with the prospect of Ironman preparation seemed like a monumental task, but working with Brian made this challenge not only manageable, but also rewarding.
From the outset, Brian demonstrated an ability to adapt my training to fit the realities of my schedule. My sessions were structured to prioritise efficiency - adjusting intensities where needed while still ensuring the volume necessary for an Ironman was there. This approach worked incredibly well, allowing me to get the most out of every session without feeling overwhelmed and inevitably missing sessions.
One quality I have particularly valued is Brian’s consistent availability to answer my questions, no matter how big or small. Whenever I needed clarification, whether it be about a technical aspect of training, nutrition, or the structure of a session, Brian was always quick to respond with clear advice. His ability to provide useful pointers and insight on how to execute each session efficiently helped a lot throughout my training. This level of attentiveness helped me to build confidence and approach each workout with a clear purpose.
Beyond the logistics, Brian has expanded my understanding of triathlon training a great amount. My knowledge of nutrition, rest, and technique across all three disciplines has grown. The specific, actionable advice around nutrition and recovery has made a noticeable difference in my energy levels, my ability to recover, and my overall enjoyment of the sport. In the swim, I have made improvements that I am proud of. Historically, swimming was my weakest discipline, but with Brian’s guidance, I spent more time focusing on drills and working at different intensities. This improved my technique and gave me greater control and confidence in the water. On race day in Copenhagen, these changes helped me to a 1:17 swim split - a result I was very happy with and one that would not have been achieved without Brian’s expertise.
Cycling has also seen a transformation for me. Through varied sessions that targeted different intensities and cadences, my ability to handle all kinds of terrain has improved significantly. Brian’s focus on dialling in my nutrition for long rides was invaluable; not only did it help me get through big training days, but it gave me the confidence to complete a 330km cycle across the UK and achieve a 5:45 bike split at Ironman Copenhagen, again, exceeding my own expectations.
When it comes to running, I now consider it my strongest discipline, due to the structured and progressive sessions set by Brian. My pace, confidence, and overall enjoyment have all improved, culminating in a 3:56 marathon split during the Ironman. This experience has left me excited and hungry to pursue a standalone marathon and achieve a respectable time.
One of the most motivating aspects of training with Brian has been the consistent variety in my weekly sessions. The training never felt repetitive or monotonous; instead, I looked forward to each new week, knowing that the challenges would keep me engaged and motivated. This has been crucial in maintaining my enthusiasm for training, even during busy or difficult periods.
Overall, working with Brian has made training for an Ironman possible and enjoyable. I am grateful for the expertise, adaptability, and encouragement that has helped me to exceed my goals and discover new potential in myself. I look forward to what comes next, knowing I have a strong foundation and a brilliant coach supporting me every step of the way.

I have been coached by Brian for the last 2 years now and honestly has been the best thing I have done. It’s kept honest structure in my plan, with more specific focused training to help me improve on all areas of triathlon, rather than homemade sessions with no real outcome.
I have always had respectable results through my own training plan but in my first year with Brian I qualified for GB age group, got great results throughout the whole season with many pb’s and also completed one of the worlds hardest Ironman courses, Ironman wales in sub 13 hours.

I’m so grateful to you Brian for the encouragement, the patience, telling me I can do this when the doubt creeps in. I’m fully invested in trusting your plan, knowing you’ve got it all worked out! And having a coach who is actively taking part and bringing real life experience of the races to the group is so inspiring 🙌🏻 I’m defo nervous about my first Hyrox (solo, nothing like throwing yourself in at the deep end 😵💫) but feel very supported. Best thing I ever did was join your gang!
